Things a College Student Must Have When Attending a Lecture

Taking in knowledge is always a challenging task, especially if you are a college student. Classes, seminars, and lectures keep recurring. It also becomes mandatory to grasp all the subject-oriented tips and highlights for last-minute exam preparations. More than textbook assistance, lectures and seminars serve as the best tools to help you learn.

*So here are a few essentials needed by a student when they attend a college lecture.*

1. NOTEPAD
The notepad is a student’s best friend for quick skim and scan right before the exam. All the highlighted points along with sub-points can be jot down as the lecturer indicates the highlighted topics of a particular chapter. In turn, a pen or pencil becomes the best pal of the notepad, so place these two as the first essential thing inside your backpack, before attending a lecture.

2. TEXTBOOK
For some extreme nerds to learn a lesson from the top, thoroughly, this is a requisite by a student. Marking down the vital topics and highlighting some points under these topics would go hand-in-hand. Carrying a good highlighter pen, preferably of two colors to distinguish the topic name and the sub-points would be perfect. Carrying your textbook can help you discern how far along the syllabus you are every step of the way.

3. FILE
To carry along, and to neatly maintain all the worksheets and assignments, conserving a separate file for each subject is the aider for study planners. Each file can hold the subject question papers, too, respectively. It is the most recommended way to ace the exams, and to mark the frequently-asked questions as discussed in the lecture, thus paving an easy way to directly mark them on the preserved question papers.

4. WATER-BOTTLE
Scientifically, when blood carries more oxygen to the brain, the focus, and retention is instantly increased. Since water contains oxygen, drinking water at regular intervals helps one grasp more during a discourse. So carry a handy water-bottle. But more importantly, don’t forget to drink the water.

5. MINTS
Last but not the least, gums or mints are unbeatable to beat out sleepiness and sluggish feelings. A monotonous lecture would always end up making most of the class sleepy. But when you have to focus, then pop a mint. Many lecturers don’t tend to appreciate when students chew gums in their classes. To prevent pissing them off from this, and from getting grounded for sleeping in their class, mints are the best way to prevent chewing, so it’s a win-win.
