These are offered after conducting their own entrance exams called VITEEE (Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Examination). Vellore campus of VIT has the largest spread area of about 240+ acres of land. Another milestone in implementing FFCS time table tool which is based on a slot timetable. Under this, students will be able to choose the time that he/she wants to attend a theory class/lab. Thus, combing the FFCS on the go with a slot-based timetable, students can make their own timetable, and each student in a class may have a different timetable of his/her own. In order to make the learning much more effective, Project-based learning was introduced in the year 2010 in which the students apply the course principles by using the critical thinking and analytical, thus have an opportunity to carry out some of the challenging projects as a part of the course.

Students also have the option of choosing courses from a ‘basket of courses’ within each classification. Ample options are given to choose interdisciplinary courses from other programs which will even help the students to develop additional skills. Slow learners will also be benefitted since some of the essential course are offered in both semesters. This arrangement helps the students to register the course and clear the backlog in the subsequent semester.
